Si Dieu n’est pas marié, pourquoi parle-t-on de sa grande Clémence ?
The naming systems of the Greek and Semitic gods are so complex that the notions of “theonym” and “epithet” do not allow us to understand all the cases attested in the documentation. By focusing on the celestial gods, from a comparative perspective, sequences combining various onomastic attributes that reveal the links between the gods are studied. How, moreover, can we envisage the relationship between names and images, which also have attributes?
Each session of the third seminar “Noms de dieu(x)! – Textes, images et contextes d’usage” (January-June, 2019) is recorded.
