Siue Deus Siue Dea. Dénominations divines dans les mondes grec et sémitique : une approche par le genre

We are pleased to announce the publication of the dossier directed by Corinne Bonnet, Thomas Galoppin and Adeline Grand-Clément, « Siue Deus Siue Dea. Dénominations divines dans les mondes grec et sémitique : une approche par le genre », in the 8th issue of the journal Archimède. Archéologie et histoire ancienne.

The divine, in Antiquity, varies in gender into a plurality of gods and goddesses. But gender structures the divine worlds in ways that are specific to them. What can we learn from an analysis that crosses gender and divine denominations ? This dossier offers an exploration across divine names, ritual agents, and images, and a comparison between Greek and western Semitic worlds.

The dossier is the born out of a study day held in Toulouse, 1rst April, 2019, and organized by the MAP project in relation with the program  Eurykleia. Celles qui avaient un nom, that studies the occurrences of women names in Greek documentation
